The challenge was to build a Wilier Triestina lighter than any before, and without in any way diminishing the strength and stability of the frame. Thus was born the Zero.7. The frame passes the 799 gram*mark and with a bottom bracket box so stiff that dispersion of power from pedaling is reduced to nearly zero. We’re calling it S.E.I. (Special Elastic Integrated) Film, an exclusive viscoelastic material we insert between the Zero.7’s carbon layers to improve vibration dampening properties while making the frame more impact resistant. In order to maximize efficiency through lateral stiffness, we utilize high modulus T60 carbon. At the same time, our frames must provide comfort to prevent vibration-induced fatigue. Wilier’s proprietary S.E.I. Film implementation has enabled us to preserve stiffness and efficiency while dampening vibration. The use of viscoelastic film in carbon composites is already a proven technology in racket sports at the highest level, as well as in the aeronautical and automotive industries. The Zero.7 is evidence, once again, that a bike can be super-lightweight, laterally stiff and responsive, while providing all-day comfort to help riders of all levels perform at their very best.

We wouldn’t be as proud as we are to produce a frame of such quality if we weren’t able to prove it. Let’s start with the frame weight. Before advancing to assembly, each Zero.7 frame is checked with an electronic scale. This allows us to provide the future customer with a certificate showing their painted frame’s actual weight. But the controls carried out on Zero.7 frames go beyond testing for lightness. Before leaving our doors, each frame must pass a strict test of rigidity and resistance to stress. Because those who choose a frame like this deserve absolute certainty. Zero.7, the lightest ever Wilier, is much more than a slogan.

The BB386EVO system takes the oversized bottom bracket design concept, which was successfully introduced by Wilier Triestina in the Cento1 model and subsequent variations, to its next evolution. To obtain an unprecedented stiffness at a crucial point of the frame, we have devised an innovative system that can perfectly incorporate an ultra-stiff crank into an ultra-stiff frame. The traditional BB30 system proved inadequate because it requires a frame with a 68 mm box, which is too narrow to deliver the degree of stiffness that we wanted. With this in mind, we developed the new standard BB386EVO in collaboration with FSA, which pairs a carbon crank with a longer 30 mm spindle and a wider 86.5 mm bottom bracket box.BENEFITS BB386EVO confers stiffness to the Zero.7’s bottom bracket area that is significantly superior to that of an ordinary BB30 box. The problem of tolerances has been resolved with the press fit system.The bearings are embedded in a polymer shell that can be precisely manufactured to fit inside the frame’s 46 mm diameter opening. BB386EVO is compatible with most traditional standards on the market.
